Will of Edward Hinde 1753

 

I Edward Hinde of Charlbury in the County of Oxford Tayler being ill in Body
but of a sound Mind and perfect Memory and calling to mind the uncertain
state of this life do make this my last Will and Testament in manner
following hereby revoking all and every former Will and Wills by me before
this Time made And first I recommend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty
God and my Body to the Earth to be decently and Christianly buried at the
discretion of my Executor herein after named and as for my worldly Estate
I give  Devise and Bequeath the same in manner hereinafter expressed
(that is to say)
I give and Bequeath unto my loving Mother Ann Hinde the sum of Ten pounds
of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid by my Executor herein after
named within the space of One Year after my Decease I Also Give unto my
said Mother Ann Hinde two pair of Flaxen sheets
I likewise Give and Bequeath unto my Sister Mary Hinde the Sum of Ten
pounds of like lawful Money to be paid by my Executor herein after named
within the space of One Year after the Decease of my said Mother Ann
Hinde  I Also Give unto my said Sister Mary Hinde two Pair of sheets, One
pair Hemp and the other Flax and one piece of new black Flax for Curtains
I likewise Give and Devise (after the Decease of my said Mother Ann Hinde)
All That my Copyhold Messuage or Tenement wherein I dwell at Wats Lake in
Charlbury aforesaid with all the Appurtenances to the same belonging unto
my Brother in law Anthony Knibbs To hold unto the said Anthony Knibbs
during the Term of his natural Life and after his Decease I Give and Devise
the same unto my Sister Ann Knibbs now Wife of the said Anthony Knibbs
and her Heirs forever
I Likewise Give and Bequeath unto the said Anthony Knibbs all my wearing
Apparel both Linnon and Woolen and one pair of Silver Shoe Buckles one pair
of Silver KneeBuckles one Silver Clasp one pair of Studs one Silver Hatt
Buckle and also my Watch and one pair of Sheets
All the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Estate Goods Chattels Debts and
Credits whatsoever after my Funeral Expenses paid and discharged and
Debts if any owing at my Decease fully satisfied I Give and Bequeath unto
the said Anthony Knibbs his Heirs Executors Administraters and Assigns
forever
And I do make constitute and appoint him the said Anthony Knibbs Sole
Executor of this my Last Will and Testament And Lastly my further Will and
Desire is and I do hereby charge my said Executor Anthony Knibbs with the
Payment of all and singular my said Legacies hereby by me Bequeathed In
Witness wherof I have to this my Last Will and Testament set my hand and
Seal the Thirteenth Day of November in the Year of our Lord One Thousand
seven Hundred and Fifty three__Edward Hinde
Signed Sealed Published and Declared as and for the Last Will and
Testament of the said Edward Hinde in the presence of Us who have
Subscribed our Names as Witnesses to the said Will and at the Request of
