1916 Clarence William Suckling, a Corporal in the 1st/24th Bn. London Regiment, was killed 14/9/1916. He had been awarded a DCM on the 24/6/1916. . He had enlisted at Kennington. His residence given as Melton Regis on Soldiers died in the Great War: should this read Milton Regis?, which is in Kent. His nephew, John Suckling, has his war medals
An older brother Albert Suckling was killed a month later on 18/10/1916. His parents, Arthur & Louisa Suckling, were then living at 2, Moss Villas, Elmhurst Rd., Langley, Bucks.
